1959 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 MkI

The car left the factory finished in Healey Blue (BU2), per the BMIHT certificate. Body repairs and a repaint in blue were completed as part of the early 1990s refurbishment at Toy Shop Restorations of National City, which also included installation of a replacement soft top. A hood scoop, a fender-mounted driver's-side mirror, and chrome bumpers with overriders are fitted. Front disc brakes and rear drums are fitted. 15-inch wire wheels on two-ear knock-off hubs are mounted with 165-width Michelin tires. The windshield seal is beginning to crack, and the chrome is showing some haze in several spots around the car, specifically the rear bumper.

The 2+2 cabin's bucket seats were re-trimmed in blue upholstery during the early 1990s refurbishment. A banjo-style steering wheel is mounted to an adjustable column and frames white-dial Smiths instrumentation: a 120-mph speedometer, a 6,000-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination oil pressure and water temperature gauge. A Smiths heater, a dash-mounted mirror, and door storage pockets are fitted. The carpet near the pedals has some spotting.

The 2.9-liter inline-six carries dual SU HD6 carburetors from the factory, rated at 137 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. Power reaches the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive; the transmission was rebuilt, and sections of the frame were reinforced during the early 1990s refurbishment at Toy Shop Restorations of National City.
