Vortec-Powered 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

The body has been refinished in orange with white stripes over the original Galleon Gold, a significant departure from factory specification, with close-up paint photos in the gallery. A brown convertible top, chrome bumpers, quad headlights, and bodyside moldings are fitted. Super Stock II wheels wear Ironman GR906 tires measuring 205/70R14. During refurbishment, a 1972 rear bumper was used in place of the stock unit.

The interior has been reupholstered in brown cloth, a departure from the factory gold vinyl specification covering the front buckets, rear bench, and door panels throughout. The center console carries a horseshoe-style shifter; front-seat headrests, air conditioning, aftermarket speakers, and a Custom Autosound stereo with a dash-mounted controller follow. Factory instrumentation occupies the dashboard behind an aftermarket-wrapped steering wheel; a secondary gauge cluster below reads oil pressure, voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The factory fuel gauge does not work.

The 5.3-liter Vortec V8, an LS-family engine installed under prior ownership, replaces the original Oldsmobile V8 with a modern fuel-injected unit featuring a high-flow intake pipe. Power reaches the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic. Tubular front control arms, boxed rear trailing arms, power steering, and power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes are fitted throughout. The fuel tank has been replaced; four-into-one headers feed a dual exhaust system with Xlerator mufflers.
