400hp 1972 Chevrolet C10 Build

The truck has been refinished in high-gloss green over pearl white, a custom interpretation of the factory Avocado Highlander two-tone documented on the SPID sticker with hand-painted pin striping by Nadine Ward's Signworks. Exterior trim was replaced with OEM-specification pieces throughout. Rally Sport wheels are fitted; new tires were installed in 2019 and show fewer than 500 miles. The interior was completely removed during the 2016 rebuild; the cab was painted inside and refitted with OEM-specification replacement panels, door cards, and trim throughout. The bench seat has been recovered in green leather. Comfortilt tilt steering and the factory gauge package, including ammeter and oil pressure, are retained. Factory four-season air conditioning and tinted glass are present. A custom stereo system is installed with kick panel speakers.

The 350ci V8 was rebuilt by Uncle Rick's Speed Shop in Wichita, Kansas, at an investment of approximately $18,000. Roller camshaft, performance connecting rods, and performance lifters were fitted, with the engine producing 400 horsepower on the dynamometer at the time of the build. A 1,500-rpm stall converter accompanies the Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic 350 3-speed. The frame was sandblasted to bare metal and coated with corrosion-free paint before the body was reinstalled. An airbag suspension system with an onboard compressor and independent front and rear ride-height adjustment replaces the factory spring setup. Brake lines, drums, and pads have been replaced; the rear axle was serviced. Power steering is retained.
