The Porsche 356 Speedster this car is styled after was introduced in late 1954 at Max Hoffman's suggestion, as a lower-cost, spartan open-top variant aimed at the American market, and remains one of the most desirable Porsche 356 variants among collectors today. That desirability, and the high cost of genuine examples, has fed a long-running replica and kit-car market built around the Speedster's shape. The great majority of these replicas, from established builders such as Chesil Motor Company (founded 1991 by Peter Bailey in Dorset, UK), are built on a Volkswagen Beetle chassis, since the 356 and the Beetle share enough mechanical layout to make the VW platform a practical, low-cost donor. This car takes a different route entirely: rather than an air-cooled VW-based build, it pairs a Chevrolet 350ci small-block V8 with GM-sourced chassis components with a 1986 Pontiac Fiero front subframe and a 1988 Corvette-derived rear end, placing it in the smaller, V8-powered branch of the Speedster replica market rather than the more common VW-based approach.

EXTERIOR

The body is finished in white, with the Speedster's characteristic low windshield and a scooped hood opening through which twin polished velocity-stack-style air intakes project. It rides on Weld Racing wheels with Chevrolet-branded center caps, mounted with Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R tires up front and a wider Mickey Thompson tire at the rear.

INTERIOR

The cabin is trimmed in black, with a full roll cage and RCI-branded five-point racing harnesses fitted to both seats. A "SPEEDSTER" script badge is mounted on the center console, alongside a B&M-style shift lever with an N-1-2-3-R gear pattern consistent with the automatic transmission. The dash carries a set of Auto Meter gauges, including a "Phantom"-branded speedometer showing 3,801 on its odometer, plus a decorative Porsche-crest badge.

MECHANICAL

The vehicle is equipped with a Chevrolet 350ci small-block V8 featuring MSD ignition for spark control. The transmission is a Turbo 350 automatic with a manual valve body and shift kit, routed to a shortened 1988 Corvette rear end.
