36K Mile 1963 Jaguar XKE Series I Coupe

The car is finished in Opalescent Maroon, confirmed by the JDHT certificate as the factory-original exterior color, and paint-meter readings are provided in the gallery. It features split chrome bumpers, triple windshield wipers, glass headlight covers, and dual exhaust outlets. The bumpers were re-chromed in April 2017; the Amco bumper bars removed at that time are included in the sale. A replacement exhaust system, sourced from Jaguar Classic, was installed in 2017. The car rides on 15" chrome 72-spoke wire wheels with two-eared knock-off hubs, currently wrapped in Michelin 205/70 tires. Per the seller, various areas of touch-up and a repaired chip in the windshield are present.

The cabin is trimmed in black leather low-back seats, per the JDHT certificate's recorded interior trim color, with matching door panels, sills, console sides, and carpets. Textured aluminum trims the dashboard and center console. A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer. Auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, amperage, and coolant temperature are mounted at the center of the dash. A BMCD Custom AM radio is fitted, along with a heater, a cigar lighter, lap belts, and a gray cloth headliner. The original seats show some wear.

The car is powered by the JDHT-documented 3,781cc DOHC inline-six, engine number RA 1902-9, fitted with triple SU HD8 carburetors and factory-rated at 265 hp at 5,500 rpm. Power is sent through a 4-speed manual Moss gearbox, number EB 10050 JS per the JDHT certificate, to a limited-slip rear differential. Braking is by four-wheel servo-assisted Dunlop disc brakes, inboard at the rear. The engine was rebuilt in 2019, with replacement bearings, valves and guides, head studs, freeze plugs, gaskets, and seals, along with a resurfaced cylinder head and polished camshafts and crankshaft; this work was performed by George Beavis Machine Shop of Vallejo, California, per the vehicle's prior sale documentation. The water pump was rebuilt and the heater core overhauled at the same time. The transmission was removed, resealed, and fitted with a new clutch plate and throwout bearing in 2019. A replacement clutch master cylinder was installed in 2022, and an aluminum radiator and electronic ignition have also been added.
